Week 9: Analysing Pictures from the Great Depression

This is a picture of a General Store located in Moundville, Alabama. I can see that this store is filled with goods that will fulfill people's needs like soap, bowls, sacks saying "snowballs" and many other goods. There's also a calendar hung behind on the wall showing that it was July, 1936. So in the month of July, 1936 the weather in America increased tremendously! It soared to 113 Fahrenheit which is 45 Celsius. I would think the snowballs help people relieve from the heat and soaps to sell to the people who wants to bath in this hot season also to relieve heat.
